The unilateral USA decision to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was challenged at the UN General Assembly where 128 nations, including India, voted to turn down the move as "null and void".

Modi also witnessed through video-conferencing the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) temple on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway. Other MoUs envisage joint projects in rail sector, cooperation between BSE and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and an agreement between the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and DP World to establish a multi-modal logistics park and hub in Jammu.

"The Indian Government and its people have provided significant assistance and aid to the Palestinian people by establishing training centres, schools, and the necessary humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people under occupation in the West Bank and", Abbas noted. He took a chopper ride to Palestine's Ramallah.

New Delhi was one of the earliest and staunchest supporters of the Palestinian cause and has traditionally voted in its favor at global forums.
