The 22-year-old instead had a message for people shaming her body image - knock it off!

She has recently been on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, showing off a futuristic space girl look with bright pink hair, zipped up pink topped that exposed her torso and silver skirt.

Hadid took to Twitter to respond to comments that she was 'too thin, ' and that her weight was fluctuating from season to season.

Hadid said her Hashimoto's disease causes weight fluctuations that she can't control.

She wrapped up her statement with: 'I will not further explain the way my body looks...stop putting me in that box just because u dont understand the way my body has matured'. "It's a thyroid disease, and it's now been two years since taking the medication for it".

She added: "I may be "too skinny" for u, honestly this skinny isn't what I want to be, but I feel healthier internally".

She went to war with the rumour mongers in a series of tweets to her 8.51million followers. "My metabolism actually changed like insane this year", she shared at the time.

"Over the last few years I've been properly medicated to help symptoms including those, as well as extreme fatigue, metabolism issues, body's ability to retain heat, etc.", Gigi wrote. "Although stress & excessive travel can also affect the body, I have always eaten the same, my body just handles it differently now that my health is better", she continued. In December 2016, the model opened up about her Hashimoto's battle. She urged social media users to be nicer to one another, saying, "Use your energy to lift those that you admire rather than be cruel to those u don't".
