"I'd like to announce the official news that myself and Joseph Parker will be fighting March 31 and the location will be in Cardiff, Wales".

Parker himself is looking to extend his own undefeated streak, with the WBO Heavyweight champion now 24-0 in his professional career, coming off a successful defence of his Heavyweight championship against Hughie Fury at Manchester Arena in September.

The bout will mark the first time in history that two reigning Heavyweight champions have gone head-to-head in the UK.

Parker will fight Joshua at the Principality Stadium where he beat Carlos Takam in October 2017.

Parker's camp have been pushing for the fight ever since Joshua defeated Takam previous year.

Joshua, 28, holds the IBF and WBA belts, while New Zealander Parker is the WBO champion.

Parker's promoter David Higgins paid tribute to Hearn and Matchroom Boxing for the up-front way they had handled negotiations.

"New Zealand might be a tiny country on the other side of the world but it has a hugely proud sporting tradition - and a particularly strong tradition when it comes to whipping mother England", Higgins said.

Anthony Joshua will enter the fight as the favourite. He's consistently fought fighters in the world's top ten and he's beaten them all easily.

"The stadium and Cardiff always come together to put on a fantastic show".

"Inside the stadium, boxing fans can expect yet another spectacular arena transformation, just days after the NatWest 6 Nations and ahead of Judgement Day VI and four nights of Ed Sheeran and more".

An announcement on ticket prices and sale dates will be made soon.
