Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set Confirmed for PS4

In today's surprise Nintendo Direct Mini we saw the not-entirely-unexpected reveal of Dark Souls Remastered for the Nintendo Switch, an updated version of the beloved hardcore RPG with rebuilt lighting and sound effects based on the more recent Dark Souls III.

It would kind of explain the Nintendo of America Chibi-Robo tweet, which shares similarities with the famous "Praise the Sun" pose (above) from Dark Souls.

It's also been suggested that From Software will eventually port all three Dark Souls games to Switch, but that rumor is unconfirmed at this time. This is a full remake of the game on a brand new engine for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch which means it will now support high resolution as well as 60 FPS on all platforms excluding Nintendo Switch.

According to the Twitter user, Sassy, who posted a picture proof on his/her Twitter account suggesting that an online retailer has leaked Dark Souls PS4 Remaster.

As a point of comparison, Dark Souls Remastered will run at 1080p and 60 fps on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X it will be playable on the 4K resolution. Demon's Souls' servers may still be going strong two years after release, but however long they do last, I'd bet Dark Souls' servers will certainly last much longer. As of yet this has not been announced for other regions.

In GameSpot's original Dark Souls review Kevin VanOrd awarded it a 9.5/10, describing it as "riveting". "This isn't a lighthearted romp in a bright and colorful fantasy world; it's a methodical journey into the frightening unknown". Its terrors emanate from its very core, each step bringing you closer to another inevitable death.
