Rajouri:In an unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Saturday an Indian soldier was martyred.

On December 23 a year ago, the Pakistan Army had resorted to unprovoked firing, leaving four Indian Army soldiers, including a Major from Maharashtra dead in the Keri battalion area of Rajouri sector of the LoC. The injured soldier - Lance Naik Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadane, 28 - was admitted to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. "The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty", the officer said. The BSF immediately retaliated and gunned down two Pakistani mortar positions and also gunned down one of the intruders along the International Border in Nikowal Border Out Post in Arnia sector.

In retaliation, on December 25, Indian Army troops had crossed the LoC and killed three Pakistani army men in Rawalakote sector of Poonch. Sepoy Jagsir Singh was killed during an unprovoked ceasefire violation from across the border.
