Tom Cruise films hair-raising Mission: Impossible stunt on Blackfriars Bridge

Tom Cruise has returned to the London set of "Mission: Impossible 6" to film the same stunt he broke he ankle working on past year.

The 55-year-old was seen throwing himself into filming atop Blackfriars Station in London, with Cruise legging it across the roof.

In a statement, the studio explained: "During production on the latest "Mission: Impossible" film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt".

"On the fourth try, he hit the building at a slightly different angle and he broke his ankle".

Cruise is famous for doing his own stunts, but injured himself previous year when he miscalculated a jump between two buildings during a shoot in London and broke his ankle.

Tom was seen sprinting across the roof overlooking the Thames to a getaway helicopter that circled nearby.

Despite his injury, Mission: Impossible 6 is still on track to meet its scheduled release date of 27 July 2018.

He said: "What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that's come before".

"It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after "Rogue Nation" came out".
