Sacramento Kings point guard Frank Mason has a partial tear of his plantar fascia and will miss an additional 3-to-5 weeks, reports James Ham of NBC Sports. He's undergone treatment for the injury over the last 11 days, but when his improvement slowed, the Kings medical staff sent him in for a precautionary MRI. Mason suffered the injury during the Kings' game against Memphis on New Year's Eve, and he will be re-evaluated anywhere from four-to-six weeks from the date of the injury.

A rookie out of Kansas, he has posted 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 18.9 minutes per contest in 29 games (two starts). Veteran George Hill has been out since Saturday due to the birth of his child. He returned to the team in time for shootaround Thursday morning and is expected to play against the Los Angeles Clippers.
