Pelosi Blasts Immigration Panel of 'Five White Guys'

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that striking a bipartisan deal on that addresses Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients "is possible". She told reporters during her weekly press briefing that Walmart, Southwest Airlines and other companies are merely looking for good press.

The "five white guys" as she called them, were Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

"That comment is offensive", Hoyer, D-Maryland, said in a statement Thursday.

"I would hope that with their big advantage of bringing money home at a very low rate that they would invest in infrastructure and things, but our experience has been that they will do dividends, do stock buybacks and things like that", she continued. "I am committed to ensuring DREAMers are protected and I will welcome everyone to the table who wants to get this done".

Pelosi's spokesman, Drew Hammill, tried to show a more united front by saying that Pelosi was not criticizing members of her party involved with the immigration talks, Politico reported.

"This year on Martin Luther King weekend, we honor his commitment to equality", Pelosi said.
