HTC's U11 EYEs will reportedly be released next week

In the meanwhile, HTC has also shared a "save the date" invite with January 15 as the date. This EYEs device is similar, with the renders revealing dual front-facing cameras to the right of the speaker grill. As per speculation, it is expected that the company might launch the HTC U11 EYEs smartphone as tipped by popular tipster Evan Blass. As part of the U11 line, it features a curving glass rear that comes in the bold colors of red, black, and a blue-ish silver.

With the main theme "Eyes", HTC stated on its official Facebook page today, Jan 12, that the event for its next phone would take place next week. While the company is expected to come out with the U12 flagship in the first half of 2018, it was reported that HTC will kick off the new year by launching a mid-range smartphone that will join its U11 lineup.

According to the tweet, the HTC U11 EYEs official launch showcases a 6-inch FHD display with Super LCD3 screen providing 1080 x 2160 resolutions. Its large 3,930mAh battery charges via USB-C with IP67 water and dust protection. The older Snapdragon 652 chipset will be powering the phone along with 4 GB of RAM. As far as other details are concerned, the smartphone's entire specs sheet was leaked online a couple of months ago. On the storage front, the HTC U11 EYEs will offer 64GB/128GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot.

In addition to all these, just like the newly launched U11 Plus and U11 Life, the U11 EYEs may also come with squeezable frame for Edge Sense feature.

There is no word on the release outside Taiwan, China and Hong Kong at the moment, but I expect the phone to reach other Asian markets as well as Europe in the coming weeks.
