Flight of the Conchords is returning - very briefly.

Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement will return to the premium cable network for an hour-long Flight of the Conchords comedy special in May, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Flight of the Conchords' broadcaster HBO confirmed the news this morning saying the special will air in May. Today, HBO announced an upcoming hour-long special will premiere in May.

The duo will perform classics and new original songs from their "Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour".

It only ran for two seasons, but this was enough for it to gain a fierce cult following, especially in the United Kingdom where it was broadcast on BBC Two. The series was praised by critics and beloved by fans, turning the cult favorites into an worldwide sensation. The Flight of the Conchords TV series made its debut on HBO, where it had a two-season run from 2007 to 2009.

McKenzie has since served as the music supervisor on The Muppets, which earned him an Oscar for Best Original Song, while Clement has been more present in front of the camera, appearing in Men in Black 3, Legion, and Divorce. Executive producers are Clement, McKenzie and Mike Martinovich.

The comedy special will be directed by Hamish Hamilton.
