Reese Witherspoon got a lot of accolades for producing"Gone Girl" and now she's got a lawsuit

The film, directed by David Fincher, was based on Gillian Flynn's novel of the same name.

Leslie Weller is suing Witherspoon along with the 2014 movie's director David Fincher and the author of the book Gillian Flynn, TMZ reported. Leslie she wrote a screenplay called Out of the Blue in 2005 and sent it to a script consultant, which led to someone allegedly stealing her story to write Gone Girl in 2012 according to TMZ.

Weller alleges that allowed for someone to steal her work, and claims that Gone Girl was ripped from her screenplay. Both centre on crumbling marriage and feature a wife who is seemingly ideal but, in reality, is orchestrating a devious plot to destroy her husband.

She says that there are many similarities, like they both focus on a married couple's relationship where the husband and wife are drifting apart.

It's unclear how much Weller is seeking the lawsuit.

Weller goes on. both her screenplay and the novel are structured in the same way - first, everyone sympathizes with the wife, and then you start to despise the husband, but things turn and by the end, you despise them both.

Witherspoon hasn't yet commented on the lawsuit.
