Outlast 2 Announced for Switch Release

Outlast and Outlast 2 are great horror experiences which force you to use stealth instead of engaging enemies.

First off, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that have bought Outlast 2 and have been supporting the studio for more than 5 years now. The team considered many options, but none of them "felt appropriate" as DLC for Outlast 2.

In addition to the hints at what's to come from Outlast in the future, Red Barrels also announced that the Outlast series will be heading to the Nintendo Switch in "the first quarter of 2018", with the post including a picture of the first two games both running on the device.

They're terrifying because they make you feel absolutely helpless.

However, the studio expressed that "we will, at some point, make an Outlast 3 and answers will be given", and instead said that the team is now "working on something a lot of you have been asking for".

Few real details on the projects have been revealed at present, but the studio promises that it will "distinct experience set in the Outlast universe". We can't say more right now, we first need to make sure we can make it work. While the first Outlast was made with the idea of a DLC in mind, that was not the case for Outlast 2. Like I mentioned, we strive to be risk-takers and this one is a pretty big challenge. "We will, at some point, make an Outlast 3 and answers will be given", the studio said. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more about the title.

Outlast and Outlast II are now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
