Moeen Ali is to captain an England XI in a two-day warm-up match ahead of the third Ashes test in Perth.

Joe Root's side were allowed to stay out later than midnight in Adelaide on Wednesday after their 120-run defeat, with England now deciding to ease rules brought in after Jonny Bairstow was accused of "head-butting" Australia's Cameron Bancroft in an incident that happened at the start of England's tour but did not come to light until he was sledged in Brisbane. England's off-spinner, Moeen Ali will lead the England XI side which would be played at Richardson Park in Perth.

Moeen, who missed first two warmups on the tour due to a side strain, will use the two-day game to get a few more overs under his belt.

Squad for practice game: Moeen Ali (c), Jake Ball, Gary Ballance, Mason Crane, Tom Curran, Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes (wk), Keaton Jennings, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Liam Livingstone, Mark Wood. Ben Foakes will be the wicket-keeper for England XI.

That will give opportunities to - among others - Mark Wood, Keaton Jennings, Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone.
