"Jon's gunning hard for the role", a source told the site.

According to RadarOnline.com, a source close to the production of director Matt Reeves' The Batman, Jon Hamm is doing whatever it takes to replace Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader.

It's unclear exactly when Affleck's doubts about the DCEU began, with the films in which he has appeared often receiving harsh criticism.

Affleck stepping down as Batman might sound disappointing to fans, but there have been numerous reports pointing towards that direction. When one reporter confronted Affleck and co-star Henry Cavill in an interview about these poor reviews, Affleck's seemingly despondent response created one of the most popular memes of the year and became a widely-shared viral video.

Rumors of Affleck's exit were seemingly confirmed as he distanced himself from The Batman, with Reeves taking over directorial duties.

Personally, I'd like to see Affleck get his own Batman trilogy, as he's been the best on-screen version of the character so far.

According to gossip site Radar Online, former Mad Men star Jon Hamm wants the Batman role in the Matt Reeves movie.

"They've enjoyed working together and have been on good terms ever since", the source explained. "This is business for Jon, not personal".
