While Aquaman was briefly introduced in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Momoa shared plenty of screen time with his co-stars as the fearless and the bold recently in Justice League, however, the superhero team-up flick only featured one sequence set in Atlantis, which included a battle with Parademons and a dialogue exchange between Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard).

"Justice League was only a weekend in Arthur Curry's life", added star Jason Momoa. "This is a totally different beast".

Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Temuera Morrison as Aquaman's father, Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman is playing the mother to Aquaman, Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Ludgren is King Nereus.

Brought to you by the good people of EW, Momoa is seen in the pic shirtless while emerging from a cloud of steam.

Wan also spoke about the film's feel and style, saying: "It's going to look very different, it will feel very different - aesthetically, tonally, story-wise - it's my own take".

As for the common perception of Aquaman as a Justice League also-ran or the butt of the joke, Wan says that's just driving him harder. And then becoming this man who puts up all these walls. "It's a much more a traditional action-adventure quest movie", Wan said. "I think James Wan just killed it". "Aquaman has been the joke of the comic book world, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought how cool that would be", he said.
