Jos - The abductors of Damishi Sango, Plateau PDP Chairman and former Sports Minister, have demanded for N100 million ransom.

Meanwhile, the party has, in a statement issued yesterday afternoon, charged the security agents to ensure that the party chairman, who was kidnapped alongside another chieftain of the party, Chief Emmanuel Mangni, his (Sango) son, his driver and orderly, is safely released.

The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Plateau State, John Akans told Punch that the kidnappers have contacted the family and have demanded N100 million ransom.

Sango, it was further learnt was on his way to Abuja to attend his party's national convention slated to hold on Saturday, December 9. Mapis, according to the told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), quoted Sango as telling family members that the five of them were safe.

They were seen making final preparations for the movement of delegates of the party to Abuja for participation in tomorrow's national convention of PDP. "I am on my way to Abuja".

He said, "The Jere Road has been a flashpoint and Kaduna State is a den of kidnappers". We want to know if they (abductees) are alive and in good condition.

"The incident happened in Jere, Kaduna State, and is not under my jurisdiction".

He said the Plateau Command was working in synergy with the Kaduna office to rescue the victims and possibly arrest those behind the incident. But let me confirm that Damishi Sango has been kidnapped because we have received the signal from Kaduna.
