A man was shot at and injured by the security forces after he tried to jump over the Air Force Hindon base wall in Ghaziabad.

The suspect has been identified as Sujeet belongs to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. "Sujeet said he was preparing to take a ride on one of the planes", the official said.

"There are variations in his statement", a police source said.

A detailed analysis of a threat perception has suggested that Air Force bases in Uttar Pradesh are under the radar of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. He was spotted lurking around the high-security base at around 10.30 pm.

Sujeet first examined an IAF jet installed outside the base.

First, he tried to enter the airbase area through one of the gates, but after being warned by the guards, he resorted to scaling the fence.

The security personnel then shot at below Sujeet's knee.

The security has been beefed up at the airbase. Call details are being fetched.

The Indian Air Force intelligence wing and the Ghaziabad Police are interrogating the man to ascertain whether he has any terror links.Anoop Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Police, as reported by TOI, said, "His mobile phone is being screened. A police team is being sent there to get more details".
