The parade starts at 4 p.m.at Canadian Tire Financial Services on East Main Street, following the thoroughfare to the Civic Square.

"Every year we try to add to it", said Hicks, noting Santa's appearance this year represents a bit of a Christmas miracle as Enviro Niagara Group stepped in at the last minute to offer up a flatbed for the jolly old elf's sleigh. Floats will highlight how Christmas was and is celebrated throughout Canada.

Behind the wheel of a bright red 1959 Chevrolet pickup truck, Mrs. Claus scoped out the parade route and even peeked into a few downtown Timmins businesses. It will continue south down Main Street, turn onto William Stephenson Way and end at Westbrook Street.

As a result of the parade, Main Street West, from Whitmer Street to Tremaine Road, will be closed. The eastbound lanes will be closed from 12 until 3 p.m. while the westbound lanes will be closed from 1 until 3 p.m. Welland Downtown BIA executive director Stephanie Hicks was quick to echo Ane's sentiments, and said kids will not be disappointed as Santa once again rounds out the parade.
