Sporting KC's reserve side Swope Park Rangers lose USL Cup vs. Louisville

South Africa's Lebo Moloto ended the USL campaign in disappointment following Swope Park Rangers' 1-0 USL Cup defeat to Louisville City.

The championship is the first for the team, which has played for three years. LouCity FC will take the USL Cup to Fourth Street Live! for a 5:30 p.m. Tuesday celebration.

The celebration event is free, open to the public and will feature LouCity FC team and staff.

Louisville forward Luke Spencer was within inches of the goal line at the hour mark when he almost connected on a cross by former Houston Dynamo draft pick Brian Ownby.

Lancaster, a second-half substitute, headed home a long ball forward from Speedy Williams at the near post, securing the title for Louisville in its third year of existence.

Swope Park frantically fought to tie the game in the final minutes, notching several unsafe looks from set pieces as stoppage time wound down. The match was also the second-most-attended final in league history.
