After a video surfaced Thursday of Jason Momoa making a crude rape joke in 2011, the "Aquaman" star apologized on his Instagram account, saying: "I made a truly tasteless comment". I've had the best group of women in my life-and if the law didn't take care of them, what would you do?

The video in question showed the actor saying he enjoyed working on the hit HBO show "Game of Thrones" because he got to "rape handsome women". Momoa played Khal Drogo in the show, a role that included several rape scenes with co-star Emilia Clarke (who was also on the panel).

"But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there's so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape attractive women", Jason said.

The clip of the Justice League actor resurfaced after a number of recent discussions of sexual harassment by men in Hollywood.

Another thing that happened at San Diego Comic-Con: Jason Momoa made some comments about rape.

Thanks to the understandable outrage over long-hidden sexual allegations involving movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, male stars face having any embarrassing skeletons being pulled out of their proverbial closets and posted on social media.

In light of the anger at Momoa's comments, he wrote that reactions were "justified". "But the good news was I'm not a rapist". Discussing the film in a 2014 interview with Entertainment Weekly he said, "The biggest thing is that I'm a father, and a husband, and a son, and a grandson".
