Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield has weighed in on FIFA's investigation into Tim Cahill's allegedly sponsored celebrations against Syria on Tuesday.

Following his "last gasp extra-time victor", Cahill made a T symbol above his head toward the crowd.

The post has been deleted.

"Did you catch @tim_cahill, our new brand ambassador, doing the TripADeal "T" after he scored the winning goal last night?"

Not sharing the company's enthusiasm, many fans took to social media to blast Cahill in cashing in during a moment of national pride.

"FIFA is reviewing and analysing the reports from the referees and the match commissioners for all matches in Federation Internationale de Football Association competitions", A Federation Internationale de Football Association spokesperson said, per Sky Sports.

"Events which require further attention may be communicated accordingly".

In 2012, Danish striker Niklas Bendtner was fined 100,000 USA dollars for exposing underwear made by one of his personal sponsors when celebrating a goal in global competition.

The Football Federation of Australia (FFA) did not confirm or deny reports of Postecoglou's resignation, saying the focus was on the upcoming World Cup playoff.
