Accused hit-and-run driver Sebastian Kennett has been arrested in a Melbourne house with two others.

Sebastian Kennett, 20, was on the run for three days after he allegedly smashed a stolen white Lexus into a Toyota Yaris in Oakleigh on Monday night, killing the driver, Lynda Hansen, 53, a nurse who was on her way home from work.

Police publicly named Kennett, 20, and issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday.

"All three males are now being interviewed by police and no charges have been laid at this stage", police said in a statement.

Ms Hansen, 53, initially survived the crash but died despite the best efforts of residents who came to her aid. The driver of the stolen auto fled while nearby residents performed CPR on the nurse.

They said Ms Hansen led a "dedicated spiritual life", loved yoga, sang in a gospel choir and enjoyed overseas travel and caring for her elderly mother.

"Lynda leaves behind many shocked and devastated friends and family members", the family said in a statement on Tuesday.
