Reports state that air fares have dropped nearly 40-50%.

Full-service carrier Vistara on Tuesday announced festival sale offering customers fares starting at Rs 1,149 for an economy class travel and Rs 2,099 for the premium economy class. "Vistara "Festival of Flights" sale offers all-inclusive fares starting Rs 1,149/- in Economy Class, and Rs 2,099/- in Premium Economy", the airline said. The Vistara discounted sale offer gives an opportunity to its passengers to plan their travel in advance to some of the popular domestic holiday destinations like Goa, Port Blair, Leh (Ladakh), Jammu, Srinagar, Kochi, Guwahati, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, as well as metro cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the company said. And the travel period as stated by Vistara airline for its Diwali Sale 2017 offer will be in between October 26, 2017 to 15th March 2018. One can book for dates between October 26 and March 24. Reservations made under this scheme are non-refundable, IndiGo said. The lowest rate of flight in Vvistara sale is on Srinagar to Jammu route, while other routes also have incredible and cheap fares such as flight rate for the route for Delhi to Chandigarh is Rs 1199, Delhi to Amritsar is Rs 1,299 respectively, Delhi to Srinagar is Rs 1,699, Delhi to Leh, Delhi - Mumbai for Rs 2,099, Delhi to Goa for Rs 2,999 and many other offers. The lowest fares start at Rs1,120 from Chennai to Bengaluru. The report mentions that usually, people flying to different cities to be with family and friends during Diwali means that airlines see a spike in sales.

Vistara declared its Diwali Sale offer to start from 1 am on Wednesday i.e 11th October 2017 and will end by Friday, 11:59 Pm i.e Oct 13, 2017. Some of the fantastic deals under the airline's Year-End Grand Sale include Bhubaneswar-Kolkata (starting at Rs. 1,299), Ranchi-Kolkata (Rs. 1,799), Kochi-Bengaluru (Rs. 1,399) and Bagdogra-Kolkata (Rs. 1,999). As always, the earlier you book, the better the deal! Once the seats are sold out, the fares will go back to the normal rates.
