Witnesses claim the drone has voice technology, enabling the user to speak to children on the playground, and said it has attempted to lure children away from the school, WKYC reports.

Akron Public Schools officials remain on alert for possible sightings of the drone.

A school spokesman said that the drone had not been spotted during school hours and no one with the school has seen the drone.

The family who reported the incident told the Akron newspaper that the drone had been showing up more and more often and that the drone says "hey" in a computerized voice.

"Three to four times, they have seen a drone up over the playground", principal Megan Lee-Wilfong told WJW. They were using a drone equipped with a loudspeaker to do it.

Parent Hannah Adkins described her reaction.

"That's scary", Hannah Adkins, a resident of the school's neighborhood, told WJW, adding that since she had a daughter she anxious about "some weirdo flying something around".

Lee-Wilfong reminds parents to have the stranger-danger talk, and if anyone knows anything, give the district a call.
