2017 Emmy Nominations Best Actress Comedy

The actual Emmy Awards will start right at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 17, and will air from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on CBS.

Last year, the likes of Game of Thrones, Veep, Last Week Tonight, and The Voice all earned awards, and this year is set to showcase television programs of the same high caliber.

Host Stephen Colbert will preside over the 69th Annual Emmy Awards. Last year, Priyanka presented the award with Tom Hiddleston.

Raleigh native Evan Rachel Wood is nominated for Best Actress in a drama for her role in HBO's "Westworld".

"This is a night to celebrate television and there's no bigger star on television in the a year ago than Donald Trump", the late night host sniped, according to Inside Edition. She is attending the Emmy awards despite her series Quantico not being nominated for any category.

And there's no short of hot contenders to take its place. How does one react when hearing they are up for not one, not two, not three, but six Emmy Awards at once?

Plucky newcomer Riz Ahmed and fan favorite Benedict Cumberbatch are nominated in the same category this year, meaning we've got a veritable "Sophie's Choice" when it comes to choosing a victor. CBS All Access, the company's standalone streaming service, will live stream the Emmys in 175 markets, including Los Angeles and NY.

On Sunday, the comedian has another shot as "The Late Show" is up for Outstanding Variety Talk Series. "Westworld", which had its first-ever season in the fall of 2016, as well as "Saturday Night Live", lead the way with 22 nominations apiece.

"This is Us" is up for best drama, which hasn't been won by a network show in 11 years.

And the fact that the Best Drama Series race contains five first-time nominees - Stranger Things, Westworld, The Handmaid's Tale, This Is Us, and The Crown, alongside returning nominees Better Call Saul and House of Cards - is an Emmy record.
