VisitBritain launches spy-themed campaign ahead of film release

The national tourism organisation has launched a six-week global campaign ahead of the release the Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which comes out in the United Kingdom on September 20 and in the USA on September 22.

VisitBritain is launching a marketing campaign on the back of a new spy film coming out later this month.

The spy movie was filmed around the United Kingdom and features iconic landmarks such as Savile Row, Hyde Park, Eventim Apollo (formerly Hammersmith Apollo) and the Greenwich Royal Naval College in London. Other filming locations include Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales and GlenDronach Distillery in Forgue by Huntly, Scotland.

"Britain is home to some of the world's most-loved secret-agents and our stunning landscapes and iconic cityscapes provide a captivating backdrop for their thrill-seeking adventures and dashing lifestyles, from buying suits at Savile Row to hatching plots and supping whiskey in the Scottish Highlands", said VisitBritain/VisitEngland director of marketing Clare Mullin. It is an action spy comedy series based on the comic book of the same name.

VisitBritain's digital and social media campaign drives online traffic to its Kingsman: The Golden Circle campaign hub on visitbritain.com/kingsman. Rumors suggest that a third and final installment of the series will follow this one.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle was filmed across Britain and features iconic landmarks including Savile Row, Hyde Park, Eventim Apollo (formerly Hammersmith Apollo) and the Greenwich Royal Naval College in London.

For more than a decade VisitBritain has been promoting Britain to the world through film, most recently as part of the UK Government's GREAT Britain campaign. When Kingsman HQ is blown up and the world falls victim to a villainous scheme by the evil organization the Golden Circle and their wacko leader Poppy (Julianne Moore), Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and the gang must join forces with their American counterparts, The Statesman to take on the new threat and save the world from certain doom.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle also stars Colin Firth, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John and Jeff Bridges. Look for it in theaters starting September 20th in the United Kingdom and September 22nd in the States, man.
