Worker injured while reparing ride at Central Carolina Fair in Greensboro

A North Carolina fair worker is injured after falling from a Ferris wheel he was repairing. NC State inspectors were called to the scene to investigate the incident.

The employee "followed safety procedures to safely unload all passengers", according to a statement by Central Carolina Fair. Police say it happened sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The television station reported that at least one young boy was inside the stuck gondola vehicle. He was treated on the scene by EMS and transported to a local hospital and has since been released.The gondola was restored to proper working condition last night and it has been reinspected by NC Department of Labor officials.

A state inspector is now investigating the incident and the Ferris wheel ride.

Michael's Amusement out of Fayetteville is the company that operates the ride.
