The world's highest paid footballer finds himself in problems at Shanghai Shenhua, as head coach Wu Jingui have no intention of using the striker until he improves his physical shape.

But the Uruguayan's replacement appeared to be less willing to indulge a player who has failed to live up to his reported £600,000-a-week (HK$6.214 million) wages in the Chinese Super League (CSL).

It isn't just his poor goal return of two strikes in 15 games that has seen the Argentine sidelined.

"He will be informed of my tactical plans but I won't pick him right now". He's not fit to play, ' said the coach. He's not ready physically.

"He is overweight, along with (Fredy) Guarin. When you are on the pitch, if you can't play at 100%, then it is completely meaningless".

"I have coached lots of big stars, and my players are never picked on reputation".

The 33-year-old former Manchester United, Manchester City and West Ham forward joined Shenhua from Boca Juniors on December 29 last year.

Tevez was rounded on for accepting such a colossal pay check after he had revealed that he only planned on playing for Boca until he hung up his boots in the future.
