EPL Club Preview Arsene Wenger braced for knife-edge 2017-18 season with Arsenal

At a press conference earlier this week, Arsene Wenger said the Sanchez will miss the first two games of the new season with a minor injury but insists that the Chilean forward will not be leaving this Summer. He is now appealing against a two-month prison sentence for assaulting a police officer past year and, because of that conviction, was banned from entering the United Kingdom for PSG's Champions League fixture against Arsenal last season.

Arsene Wenger has been the coach of Arsenal for about 21-years and just recently signed a 2-years contract extension at the beginning of the transfer window, after many had speculated his exit away from the club.

Sanchez's future at Arsenal remains up in the air with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain determined to snap him up.

"A lot of it depends on Sanchez but if he goes they're going to need to bring in some replacements I think". So this will mean, they could concentrate on the Premier League this will be a big boost if the club could convince Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to sign new contracts too.

'But I don't think I would have included him on Friday night. 'I have sympathy for him. "He is focused. Of course when you have treatment on a medical bench, it's not easy".

'He was busy completing the transfer of Neymar. I have had no contact at all with PSG.

Wenger added: "I'm convinced in 10 or 15 years it will not necessarily be a football specialist who is a manager of a club".

Sanchez, whose current deal expires in 2018, did not play in Arsenal's victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday. For example Ramsey, Ozil, (Per) Mertesacker, of course (Laurent) Koscielny is suspended. I have players coming back who have not played [Mustafi].

Wenger revealed a fresh blow after confirming that Alexis Sanchez has picked up an abdominal strain and the attacker is expected to be out for at least two weeks.
