He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

The affidavit did not say why officers wanted to talk to him, but they told him they wanted to see guns he owned.

Police say Noble asked what type of weapon was used in the murder of Michael. Noble then "stared" at the officer for about a minute, "blankly", before the officer asked again and he said that he knew where the weapon was. Noble began to act "visibly upset and faked crying". Police asked him why he was fake crying and Noble allegedly told police he sold McCarthy the gun.

McCarthy was taken to a Kansas City area hospital for treatment and then was taken into custody at the Henry County jail.

Noble then said that on August 7, he came home around 2 a.m. from Lee's Summit, walked into his house, and saw the rifle leaning against the inside doorway. He said he told his wife he needed to take out the trash and instead drove to a creek about two miles north of Clinton, where he threw it into the water.

Shields claims Noble knew the weapon had been used in the crime.

A class E felony is punishable by up to 4 years in the Department of Corrections.

McCarthy fled after he allegedly shot the officer during at a traffic stop in Clinton.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Saturday morning at the Benson Convention Center in Clinton, according to the Vansant-Mills funeral home website.

Ian James McCarthy, 39, of Clinton, Missouri, was arrested Tuesday without incident after a driver reported that a man was walking on a highway in Henry County, Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said at a news conference.

The prosecutor said he's considering more charges against Noble and whether to seek the death penalty against McCarthy. Before shots were fired, Michael managed to give a description of a dark SUV with Missouri plates, which is registered to McCarthy, according to a probable cause statement.
