A joint team of the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Mumbai Police on Monday nabbed a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist from the Mumbai Airport. He is now being interrogated in Mumbai, IANS reported.

Officials said that Saleem Khan was caught on the basis of the lookout notice, according to a report in news agency IANS. Khan is said to be a native of Hathgaon village in Fatehpur, UP. Aftab, who was arrested from Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh recently, had named Khan as a culprit. Khan's arrest has been confirmed by Anand Kumar, UP ADG (Law and Order).

"Having obtained a Pakistani passport, Salim settled down in UAE to avoid arrest by the Indian security agencies", averred IG, UP ATS.

Kausar and Sharif two accused arrested in the 2008 CRPF case reportedly informed police that Saleem Khan also took training with them at Muzzaffarabad terror camp. "He was deported from United Arab Emirates after his visa expired".

In Lucknow, Inspector General of UP ATS Aseem Arun said that after the arrest of ISI agent Aftab from Faizabad on May 3, 2017, the ATS had come to know that Salim Khan used to pass on directions to him and also send him money from overseas.

In Lucknow, Inspector General of UP ATS Aseem Arun said that after the arrest of ISI agent Aftab from Faizabad on May 3, 2017, the ATS had come to know that Salim Khan used to pass on directions to him and also send him money from overseas. It is alleged that he has been involved in anti-national activities for the last 10 years and may be even more than that.

Salim was netted following arrest of another terror operative Aftab Ali in May. "Associated with the LeT, Salim has been laundering money through some businessmen in Maharashtra to fund terror operations", said Arun.
