Cyle Larin Added to Canada Roster for Gold Cup Knockout Rounds

Canada is now participating in the Gold Cup of CONCACAF, has added depth to his unit offensive with the arrival of the attacker Cyle Larin, Sunday evening.

It will be a second presence for Larin in this competition.

Canada coach Octavio Zambrano said in an interview with the Canadian Press on June 28 that he planned to recall Larin to the roster as one of the six changes allowed after the group stage.

Larin, who plays for Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer, replaces Raheem Edwards of Toronto FC. Canada will face the runners-up from Group C at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Thursday, July 20 at 10 pm.

Less than two weeks after his DUI arrest and suspension, Larin was cleared to return to action.

This will be Larin's second Gold Cup participation and the first appearance in the quarterfinals for Canada since 2009. The 7 p.m. match will be nationally televised on ESPN.
