Saudi cabinet expresses satisfaction over Qatar-related decisions

Russia's state-run Tass news agency says the two discussed "the growing tensions around Qatar".

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain last week cut diplomatic ties with Qatar over alleged accusations that Doha was supporting worldwide Islamist extremists who are threats to the region's peace and security. Qatar denied all the allegations floated against it as baseless.

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdulrahman al-Thani said on Monday Doha "still had no clue" why Arab states had cut ties with his country.

"Qatar has shown the most decisive stance against the terrorist organization Islamic State alongside Turkey".

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the isolation of Qatar as "inhumane" and "un-Islamic" on Monday.

"It is neither humane nor Islamic to totally isolate a country's people", Erdogan told a gathering of lawmakers from his ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara.

Saudi Arabia's aviation body said on Tuesday that closing its airspace to flights from Qatar was within its sovereign rights to protect its citizens from any threat.

"So far five planes carrying ... vegetables have been sent to Qatar, each carrying around 90 tonnes of cargo, while another plane will be sent today", Iran Air spokesman Shahrokh Noushabadi said. Oman has stayed out of the conflict.

Yemen, the Maldives, Mauritius, Mauritania and the eastern-based government in divided Libya also announced a break in relations with Doha, while Jordan and Djibouti said they would lower the level of diplomatic contacts with Qatar. The milk production is expected to start by June-end. However, after Qatar was ostracised by the Gulf nations, the things have changed.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain all cut off diplomatic contact with Qatar after officially accusing it of "sponsoring terrorism" last week.

Pakistan has close ties with the kingdom but also business ventures in Qatar.
