From Gurgaon to Greater Noida: Woman gangraped in moving car

In yet another horrific incident in the National Capital Region, a woman was kidnapped from Haryana's Sohna town near Gurugram and was gang-raped in a moving auto for hours by three men before they threw her out in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

The woman was abducted from near her house in Sohna area of Gurugram district around 8.30 p.m. on Monday by three men in a Swift auto. The three men then allegedly raped her as they drove through the capital to Greater Noida. After driving through Delhi, they reached Greater Noida where they threw her out in a dark spot before escaping. A female passerby noticed the woman lying on the roadside on Tuesday morning and informed the police.

An investigation has been launched by the Haryana police.

The suspects are absconding and an investigation is now on.

The woman is a native of Bharatpur city in Rajasthan and had come to Sohna 10 days ago. The woman has been taken back to Sohna to determine where she was abducted from and where the alleged rape occurred, Kumar added.

The incident highlights that police patrolling continues to be poor, particularly during the night in places like Gurgaon and Gautambudh Nagar.

A senior Greater Noida police officer told PTI: "Some beer bottles were also found from the spot which indicates that the accused persons were inebriated at the time".

Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, two Noida policemen stationed at a Police Control Room van were shunted out after they were found sleeping during the night.

Earlier on Friday in a similar incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by six minors and later thrown out from a train at Kiul Railway Station in Bihar.
