Trump Attorney: The President Is Not Under Investigation

President Donald Trump has taken on "obsessive behavior", constantly sending out defensive tweets, saving morning news programs to watch later and even blurting out during meetings that he's not under investigation, Politico reported Thursday.

Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as a special prosecutor in an investigation of alleged collusion between Trump associates and Russian Federation in the 2016 election.

Asked about the possibility that an investigation has since developed and the president just does not know, Sekulow said: "I can't read people's minds, but I can tell you this, we have not been notified that there's an investigation to the president of the United States".

In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump, who has been putting together his own team of outside lawyers to represent him, called the Post's report Wednesday that he is being investigated for collusion "phony". Trump cited the memo in firing Comey.

US intelligence agencies concluded in a report issued in January that Russian Federation interfered in the presidential race to try to help Trump win, in part by hacking and releasing emails damaging to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trump has told associates he has the legal authority to fire Mueller.

The White House has directed questions for details to outside legal counsel, which has not responded.

The preservation order covers any transition team information about Russian Federation or Ukraine, and it also seeks any records of background investigations of former national security adviser Flynn, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, his business partner Rick Gates, former foreign policy adviser Carter Page and informal campaign adviser Roger Stone Jr.

I can see why his Vice President Mike Pence has made a decision to lawyer up. Pence headed the Trump transition until Inauguration Day. The transition, a nonprofit structurally separate from the Trump campaign, continues to operate with a small staff.

During the December meeting with Kislyak, Kushner suggested establishing a secure communications line between Trump officials and the Kremlin at a Russian diplomatic facility, reports The Washington Post. They asked judges to order the Federal Bureau of Investigation to produce the records.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" the president tweeted.

In a second Tweet, Trump echoed previous claims that he is the victim of what he says is the "single greatest witch hunt in American political history". Trump exclaimed on Twitter, referring to the investigation as a "Witch Hunt". But Rosenstein is not now heading the FBI's probe into the Trump campaign's possible collusion with a Russian campaign that USA intelligence officials have said was seeking to tilt the outcome of the 2016 election in Trump's favor.
