Based on the renders, the aesthetics don't seem to have changed all that much from the Surface Pro 4, typical of a refresh and minor release.

The upcoming Microsoft Pro has been leaked online, giving us a quick glance into how the company is uplifting its 2-in-1 line-up. He said that the company did not want to launch a product with just upgraded specifications and label it as the next generation Surface Pro. But if you were hoping for the Surface Pro 5, you might be disappointed.

However, Yusuf Mehdi, CVP of Microsoft's Windows and Device group recently added that there might be an update to the Surface Pro 4 coming soon which has now been confirmed by Evan Blass's leak. However, the prime reason for Microsoft going with a refresh of the Surface Pro 4 tablet and a simplified branding (a move started by several tech giants) has to do with lack of substantial innovation on the hardware front.

Microsoft is hosting a hardware-focused launch event in Shanghai on May 23, i.e next week and we've received out very first leaked image set for the upcoming Surface Pro.

The keyboard and the Surface Pen will come in four colour variants that including Charcoal, Burgundy, Platinum, and Teal, similar to the ones seen on the previous variant.

Last time, the company also introduced a Surface book along with the tablet, but this time around, the company is not expected to announce the successor to it, as revealed by people closer to the company's plans.
