HTC announces VIVE product launch in India

Speaking about the HTC Vive launch, Mr. Faisal Siddiqui, President-South Asia, HTC said, "We are delighted to launch Vive in India". This is the first complete VR system that has been made available to customers in the India market.

With digital experience gaining traction among developers, industry and gaming segments, HTC has launched its Vive virtual reality (VR) headset in India.

HTC Vive created waves when it was launched in April previous year.

The Vive uses Valve's Steam VR tracking and input technologies for its providing the immersive VR experience. The device ships with wireless VR controllers, room scale movement, and headset that features built in camera.

The headset comes with a price tag of Rs 92,990 and will be exclusively available from Amazon via pre-order from April 22nd, 2017.

The Vive will initially be retailed through Amazon and HTC also plans to offer product experience at select locations. In Richie's Plank Experience, one would virtually walk on a plank placed at 80 stories high above the ground. Viveport is the global app store from HTC for the Vive content distribution. Apart from VR supported apps, the Viveport also has tailor-made VR contents across multiple genres ranging from education to sports.
