The first image of HTC's upcoming flagship leaks

The HTC U is thought to be the final name for the flagship phone, which has also gone by the codename "Ocean" in recent times.

This particular rumor comes from Twitter user LlabTooFeR, who usually gives reliable information about upcoming smartphone releases. It incorporates the HTC U Ultra and U Play codes that were formalized at the beginning of the year, with a shiny shell and rounded edges. HTC is all set to release the HTC Ocean smartphone in the months to follow, and the phone has been spotted in yet another leaked image.

Simply known as the HTC U the device will be have Gorilla Glass on both the front and back and by the look of a leaked image it will look remarkably like the new HTC U Ultra. Moreover, earlier reports also speculated that the HTC U will come in two variants, in 64GB and 128GB in terms of storage, with 4GB and 6GB of RAM, respectively. At the front of the smartphone, we will find a bezel-less display and a fingerprint sensor at the base of it, as well as an earpiece and a camera.

Some Android users may have laughed when the iPhone 7 came out without a 3.5mm headphone jack, but some smartphone manufacturers were apparently paying attention.

There is no news yet as to when the official announcement of the HTC U Ocean will be, but most probably it will be pretty soon. Rumored specs include a 5.5-inch Super LCD display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The former's 12-megapixel IMX362 Sony sensor and the 16 megapixel IMX351 cameras are significantly larger than that of the LG G6's.
