A U.S. financial site has ranked 200 cities' St Patrick's Day celebrations based on a number of factors, including weather conditions and cost of festivities.

Buffalo ranked No. 1 on 2017's Best Cities for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations, primarily for its traditions and costs, while Palmdale, Calif., ranked last.

Ranking 12th among 200 of the country's largest cities, Rochester earned high marks for safety & accessibility and cost. Syracuse was 29th on the list.

Contrary to popular belief, the first St Patrick's Day parade was not held in Ireland.

The ratings were based on the percent of Irish population, the amount of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, the average beer price, the crime rate, the number of deaths because of DUI, and a grade based on access to bars. Boston ended up among the most expensive cities on the list.

WAAF's Mistress Carrie and the WAAF Street Team were also at the party, talking with fans and giving people a chance to win tickets to the sold out Green Day concert at the DCU Center on St. Patrick's Day.
