Major League Baseball trade rumors: Yankees still after White Sox's Jose Quintana?

That means Jose Quintana trade rumors could heat up again around the Yankees.

The Astros, Cardinals, Pirates and Yankees are teams believed to be dug into the sweepstakes for the 28-year-old Quintana, who's on the trade block as the White Sox have embarked on a rebuild. The White Sox are focused on getting quality prospects in return, not necessarily quantity.

"As we sit here right now, it's more a function of continuing on the conversations we have had", Rick Hahn said earlier in the week.

Quintana made his first start of the spring Sunday, and there were a dozen scouts in attendance to watch him.

According to Bruce Levine of CBS Chicago, the White Sox are still open to trading Quintana, who is one of the most underrated starters in the league. He told Levine that he felt very good in his very first start of Spring Training. "A couple pitches I spun up there".

Quintana offers interested suitors consistent top-of-the-rotation pitching.

The Colombian pitcher has been good for the past several seasons and he was only named an All-Star last season.

Finally, Quintana has a very team friendly contract and he is under club control until after the 2020 season.

Quintana is also highly regarded in the locker room as a favorite of his teammates, having impressed others by working hard to master English and always showing support.
