Creighton men's basketball team defeats St. John's on Senior Night

Kobe Paras of the Philippines has not seen action in five games.

The Bluejays suffered only one loss - a home setback against then-No. The Red Storm haven't won consecutive games since Creighton stopped their three-game winning streak on January 4 - a trend that does not bode well for their quest to reach the breakeven mark in conference play after downing Georgetown 86-80 over the weekend.

The Bluejays scored the game's first 11 points and were ahead 43-30 at the half. Malik Ellison made a layup and then hit back-to-back 3s to trim St. John's deficit to five with 9:36 left, but the Bluejays scored 10 of the next 13 points to make it 68-56 almost three minutes later and led by at least eight the rest of the way. Ponds was the only St. John's player to finish in double-figures but Malik Ellison just missed the mark ending with 9 points. The team has been to the NCAA Tournament two times, winning a game each trip, in addition to last year's run to the NIT quarterfinals.

The Bluejays, coming off losses Providence and No. 1 Villanova, also got 12 points from Isaiah Zierden and eight from Justin Patton.
