Super Bowl Halftime Show 2016: Twitter Reacts To Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga performs during the Super Bowl 51 halftime show at NRG Stadium on February 5, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Lady Gaga fans and, y'know, good humans came to the pop star's defense, reminding shamers that making rude comments is not only holding her to a ridiculous standard, but it's also just plain unacceptable.

Her set list included hit songs such "Poker Face", "Born This Way", "Telephone", and "Just Dance". Gaga asked the crowd before she performed "Million Reasons" on the piano. "I want to, more than anything, create a moment that everyone that's watching will never forget", she said in a press conference Thursday.

After it was announced that Lady Gaga would be headlining the halftime show, she spoke about the fact that playing the Super Bowl was actually a dream she'd had since she was a child. It felt like the fastest 13-ish minutes ever, but of course no insane Gaga performance is complete without a quick outfit change.

The fire-shooting brassiere in the episode might have been a little too Katy Perry-esque to be honest, but the show was pretty much spot on with Gaga's aereal stunt. Lady Gaga and Bennett recorded the 2014 album of duets, "Cheek to Cheek". It made for an incredible visual, which is something Gaga is known for with her wild style and insane dance moves.

Gaga herself told Inside Edition that she was "happy to make her parents proud" following her rousing halftime show.

"This performance is for everyone", she said of her upcoming Super Bowl LI gig. "Hi mom", she said into her microphone.

"America, world, how you doing tonight?"

Gaga switched her outfit in lightning speed, changing into a white football-inspired top and silver sequined boy shorts to jump back on stage to sing "Bad Romance".

Though some had anticipated a political statement against President Donald Trump and his policies, Gaga steered clear of anything overt.
