Falcons owner Arthur Blank takes subtle shot at Donald Trump's wall

If you thought you were going to get through the whole Super Bowl without one mention of Donald Trump, you were sadly mistaken.

Blank has long dreamed of taking the Falcons into the elite four or five teams everyone talks about every year as being championship contenders.

"It's going to be a dance of the emotion of the moment", he said. "That's not what's made our country great". "A a fan, if I was making that decision, I would look not just at the stadium, the amenities, the food and beverage pricing, but is this going to be an investment that long term will bring joy to my family?". "It looks more like chicken flapping to me, but it's pure joy". A reporter pointed out Thursday that Blank said at his introductory press conference that he would not rest until Atlanta won a championship.

"I haven't slept in 15 years", Blank joked back.

Super Bowl LI will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on February 5 at 6:30 p.m.

He also stressed how he doesn't want this team to be known as a "one-year wonder", and everyone will strive to work to continue building the franchise to be known as a championship franchise. Certainly that is our goal. We were on pace, above pace, and I think when you have this kind of season it supports that. "If you're in that conversation, you're at the party, you have a chance". Single-game elimination, you have a chance.

"Kraft and Blank are dear friends and both are dedicated philanthropists, supporting many causes across America through their respective foundations and football teams", the Falcons said.

Blank said Friday the Falcons' sales of personal seat licenses for the new stadium have "spiked" since the team clinched a berth in the Super Bowl. "A lot of folks have asked us, 'Why are your 500 associates coming to this?' They're coming to this because it's not about just the coach, the coaches and the players".
